Derainey Rene Smith DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C

I am a dual-certified Family Practice and Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 14 years of experience in the psychiatric field, ranging from child, adult, and geriatric inpatient and outpatient care, as well as substance abuse treatment. I received my master's degree from Husson University in Bangor, Maine, and my doctoral degree from Brandman University.

My focus is on treating mood disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, substance abuse, and chronic mental illness through psychiatric assessment, medication management, and brief psychotherapeutic interventions for adult clients of all ages. I believe in creating individualized plans of care that value client involvement, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based practice. My goal for my clients is to empower them to manage their illness through supportive education in a stigma-free environment.

Clients can expect their initial visit to include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, determination of treatment goals, and education about diagnosis and available treatment options.

My office offers telemedicine as well as in-person visits. It is handicap-accessible and features a warm, welcoming staff to assist with any scheduling, insurance, or billing questions my clients may have.
